I just ordered a nacho with steak and cheese only. Though it still had some peppers and onions in it and beans I didn’t ask for but enjoyed in the mix and the meat was a little bland I would highly recommend this nacho. I might even go so far as to say it’s the best I’ve ever had. I just learned how to upgrade my own at home!!!
The best corned beef and reuben sandwich anywhere. We come every year for St Patrick's Day.
We went with a group of us and sat at the bar. The host and bartender were both very friendly. Great craft beer selection. Best apps; the cheese curds and nachos. I had the Reuben and it was delicious; so much corned beef! Fun bar decor and also great to-go beer options.
I had such a great experience at The Olympic Tavern! The atmosphere is warm and lively but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy your conversation. It has that classic tavern feel with a modern touch. The food was amazing — everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The portions were generous, and you can tell they care about quality. They also have a great drink and beer selection, so it’s a perfect spot whether you’re going for dinner, drinks, or both. The service really stood out to me too. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell why this place has been a Rockford favorite for so long. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
A well established restaurant in rockford that we always enjoy going for special occasions. good options for food and drinks and great service. will be back again.
It’s our anniversary and we wanted to try a new-to-us restaurant, so we chose The Olympic Tavern. We both ordered rib eye steak with shrimp. It was delicious! 💜 The garlic mashed potatoes did not taste very garlicky, but the potatoes were still very good. As were the seasonal veggies.😊 Dessert was a flourless chocolate torte - fabulous! Everyone we met was very friendly and the service was good. My only regret is that I did not request a nicer table. We spent our anniversary dinner sitting at a cafe table that was lined-up along a bench shared with multiple people. Not my favorite part of the evening.🫤 ➡️Part Two - Summertime Visit: This time we were seated on the patio and it was lovely! They have worked hard to create a beautiful outdoor space, and we enjoyed the evening weather and atmosphere. I tried the Brussel Sprout appetizer (delicious), and my husband had the fish and chips (really good as well). Our waitress was very loud spoken, but super sweet and helpful. If you haven’t been to this Rockford landmark yet, don’t hesitate!
My wife and I ordered the fish and chips. A house beer battered cod with sweet corn fritters, Cole slaw(with fresh cracked pepper), lemon wedge, and tar tar sauce. The fish was moist and flaky with a crispy batter. The atmosphere was nice, the cocktail are made with fresh fruit juice instead of a bottled mix as many bars use. They have a rotating keg list to help maintain fresh drinks. Definitely the best place I've been to in Rockford, this will be added to our regular rotation for dinner.
We absolutely loved the Olympic Tavern! We had the wings, a burger with fries and their fabulous chili! Everything was on point ! Kelly was an amazing bartender/server! So kind and welcoming and this is now our favorite spot! We loved the old fashioned’s as they were quite possibly the best we ever had! Can’t wait to come back!
Celebrated an event with my son. It was a great atmosphere and excellent service. Son had sirloin and I had stuffed mushrooms ravioli, both were great. My favorite appetizer is the large pretzel. Great place to relax and have great food.
Went here tonight with my daughter for the first time by recommendations from other people. We both enjoyed it, food was excellent along with the service. Very pretty lit up building. Definitely worth visiting again. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf and my daughter had fish and chips. So much more on the menu to try out.
